To help celebrate our 10th anniversary, we’re kicking off a 10×100 Campaign to donate $100, each, to 10 nonprofits this March through December. We’ve selected 5 San Diego area nonprofits – TERI, Inc., The Honor Foundation, San Diego Humane Society, Girls Rising-San Diego, and the San Diego Food Bank – since these local nonprofits are close to our hearts.
But, we want to do more. With so many amazing organizations to choose from, we’re reaching out to you to help us narrow down our list to select another 5 nonprofits for our 10×100 Campaign.

Crisis Text Line – Building an empathetic world where nobody feels alone
The need is staggering. 55% of adults in the U.S. with mental illness do not receive mental health treatment. 60% of youth with major depression do not receive mental health treatment. The Crisis Text Line provides free, 24/7, high-quality text-based mental health support and crisis intervention by empowering a community of trained volunteers to support people in their moments of need.
Sandy Hook Promise Foundation – Honor with Action and Never Forget
Sandy Hook Promise is a national nonprofit organization founded and led by several family members whose loved ones were killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 14, 2012. Based in Newtown, Connecticut, the foundation honors all victims of gun violence by turning the Sandy Hook tragedy into a moment of transformation. By empowering youth to “know the signs” and uniting all people who value the protection of children, meaningful action can be taken in schools, homes, and communities to prevent gun violence and stop the tragic loss of life.
World Central Kitchen – Food is a Universal Human Right
Founded in 2010 by Chef José Andrés, World Central Kitchen is a nonprofit organization that is first to the frontlines providing fresh meals in response to crises, while working to build resilient food systems with locally led solutions. Applying our model of quick action, leveraging local resources, and adapting in real time, WCK has served more than 200 million nourishing meals around the world.
Water First – Our work is about much more than water
Sustainable access to safe, clean water in Indigenous communities continues to be a pressing issue in Canada.
Water First is guided by the Indigenous youth and young adults who participate in our programs, our Indigenous staff and board members, local Indigenous community partners, and by members of our Indigenous Advisory Council. Our collaborations are built on respect and meaningful partnerships, with Indigenous youth and community partners at the heart of our work.
First Book – Providing equal access to quality education for kids in need
Since 1992, First Book has distributed more than 225 million books and educational resources to programs and schools serving children from low-income communities in all 50 states and provinces in Canada. First Book currently reaches an average of 5 million children every year and supports more than a third of the estimated 1.3 million classrooms and programs serving children in need.
Year Up – Learn new skills to launch your career
Year Up offers a variety of skills based job training pathways that match the expertise corporate partners are seeking for their talent pool. From IT and software development to business operations and sales & customer support, Year Up provides a broad range of job training pathways. Year Up is 100% tuition free, and provides students with the support, tools, and resources they need to succeed in their desired career path regardless of background, income, or zip code.
FreeWorld – Legit second chances start here
At the age of 15, Jason Wang was arrested for a first degree felony and sentenced to a maximum security prison on a 12-year sentence. After release, Jason went to the University of Texas at Dallas on a full scholarship and earned an MBA/MS International Business degree. Despite these credentials, Jason found employment difficult due to his criminal record.
Knowing that many other people coming out of prison were facing similar issues, Jason decided to start FreeWorld. FreeWorld is a tech enabled nonprofit that educates returning citizens in high demand, high wage careers so they can live fulfilling lives, prison-free.
No One Left Behind – Keeping our promises
Founded in 2014, No One Left Behind is the oldest charitable organization focused specifically on supporting former interpreters and U.S. government employees eligible for the Iraqi and Afghan Special Immigrant Visa programs. NOLB advocates for the SIV programs, help evacuate deserving SIV applicants to safety, and provide resettlement assistance to help them start new lives as Americans.
In 2021, NOLB evacuated 493 Afghans to safety and provided $493,000 in resettlement assistance to 330 SIV families newly resettling in the United States. But for every family touched, four more were waiting fulfilling lives, prison-free.
WriteGirl – Never underestimate the power of a girl and her pen!
Within a community of women writers, WriteGirl promotes creativity and self-expression to empower girls.
WriteGirl is a Los Angeles-based creative writing and mentoring organization that spotlights the power of a girl and her pen. At WriteGirl, we match girls with women writers who mentor them in creative writing. WriteGirl is a thriving community with 200 volunteer women writers serving more than 500 girls annually. Every year, we produce dozens of workshops, panel discussions and special events to help girls get creative, get through high school and get to college! In fact, since 2001, 100% of our graduating seniors have entered college, many on full or partial scholarships.
Dwell with Dignity – Our Families Are Never Home Alone
Dwell with Dignity designs and installs complete home interiors for families who desperately need an environment that will support health and wellness. The Dallas-based nonprofit empowers families to lead their best lives and to thrive in a safe, functional, and beautiful environment.
Families become stable and create home lives they are proud of. Toxic stress levels are reduced significantly. Academics improve. Play dates are made. Plans are made for birthday parties, holiday gatherings, and family dinners. These designs will have a powerful generational impact.
