If you’re reading this newsletter, congratulations. You’ve made it through the first quarter of 2018, and taking a beat to give yourself a thought leadership refresh before heading into Q2.

We’re preparing for a full-day leadership refresh with our 3rd Annual Re:Imagine Leadership Summit in San Diego on April 26th. It’s a day co-facilitated by myself, Dr. Tony Baron, Danielle Aguas and Michael Coffey filled with TED-like talks and mini live case studies led by our clients around three key transformative leadership areas, along with sidebars for a deeper dive into the content.

Business in Focus: Bumble Bee Seafoods

A closer look at companies executing leadership excellence

Bumble Bee LogoBumble Bee Seafoods traces its origins back to 1899 and a handful of fishermen in Astoria, Oregon. Today, this privately-owned company employees 1,500 people across the world from its headquarters in San Diego to fish suppliers in Southeast Asia.

While its 119-year history is impressive, the company’s commitment to social and environmental sustainability is even more impressive. It’s LEED Silver-certified headquarters is in the historic Showley Bros. Candy Factory building beyond the right field in Petco Park. The building’s red brick exterior was restored under the guidance of the San Diego Historical Society. Its interior, however, is a modern architectural marvel.

Now that the first quarter of 2018 is ending, I find myself sliding out of my New Year’s resolution to plan my priorities for the next day before I leave the office each evening. I had a streak of several weeks in January and February, but in March I started slipping.  I really enjoyed the clarity that planning gave me.  Can you suggest ways to help me sustain this new habit?
