Sticky Solutions

Sticky solutions to your everyday business challenges   Question: Help!  I have an underperformer who thinks she’s doing great.  I inherited her from another department after a recent downsizing effort, and she’s completely unaware that her performance is not at the level that it needs to be. I really need every one of my team members to perform well, so I really need advice on how to help her improve her performance. (more…)

Message From Our Founder

Welcome to the sixty-fourth issue of CEE News!   I learned so much this year.  As much as I desperately want 2020 to be over - and as much as I know that the restrictions of living and working during a pandemic will not miraculously disappear in 2021 – I truly value the new skills, insights, and relationships that I built this year.  Capturing some of those here feels like the best use of this treasured space we’ve shared together each month. Message From Our Founder

Welcome to the sixty-third issue of CEE News!   Most of you reading this have probably already voted. I took my ballot to our local library and dropped it in the box after having it vetted by two officious citizens my senior. Once we’ve taken the steps as responsible citizens, we need to take the steps as responsible leaders to help our teams get through what will likely be unresolved for the unforeseeable future. How? Set up a post-election listening session for your team.  Why? Because your team can’t be fully present to address what’s on their To-Do lists when anxiety, ...

Sticky Solutions

Sticky solutions to your everyday business challenges   Question: I was hired as an intern with the HR team at a public accounting agency when I was a senior in college.  They offered me a full-time position as soon as I graduated two years ago, and I’ve been working there since.  Both COVID and the racial unrest that we’ve experienced this year have greatly increased my workload.  In addition to my normal role, I was asked to add protocols to our Health & Safety Procedures and serve on the new Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Steering Committee.  I’ve been putting in a ton ...

Business in Focus: Ultranauts

A closer look at companies executing leadership excellence . Rajesh Anandan and his MIT roommate, Art Shectman, founded Ultranauts with one goal in mind: to prove that neurodiversity and autism could be a competitive advantage in business. “There is an incredible talent pool of adults on the autistic spectrum that has been overlooked for all the wrong reasons,” said 46-year-old Anandan in a recent interview with BBC. “People who haven’t had a fair shot to succeed at work, because of workplace and workflow and business practices that aren’t particularly effective for anyone but are ...

Message From Our Founder

Welcome to the sixty-second issue of CEE News! I write this message with a full heart and a sense of control that I haven’t felt for several months. We hosted the 5th annual (and first ever virtual) Re:Imagine Leadership Summit two weeks ago.  Since we were not confined to a single place on a single day, moving the Summit to an online platform yielded opportunities that we’d never taken advantage of before.  And taking advantage of those opportunities continue to pay off well after the Summit was adjourned. Business in Focus: Constellation Brands

A closer look at companies executing leadership excellence . 2020 has challenged leaders in ways they never expected. Outside of the healthcare industries, corporate leaders may feel unequipped to navigate the medical complexities that come with leading through a pandemic. Even the most seasoned leaders who’ve won accolades for setting vision, values, strategy, and culture, have little understanding of the many unknowns that this pandemic and future ones might present. Yet, organizations now have a life or death role to play in protecting the health of employees, customers, and the ...

Sticky Solutions

Sticky solutions to your everyday business challenges Question: I started a job at a large nonprofit in April. I worked remote for the first few weeks then was told that my team needed to start working together for a few days each week.  We were told that masks, social distancing, and handwashing would be strictly enforced. Soon after we returned to work, the executive director and other senior directors started taking their masks off.  In staff meetings, people pull down their masks to talk. I live with my aging parents and don’t want to infect them, but I can’t afford to lose my job ...
